Unlock a connector
POST/chargers/:id/actions/unlock-connector
Sends an OCPP UnlockConnector command to release the cable lock on a specific connector. Used for emergency unlock or troubleshooting stuck cables.
Use Cases:
- Emergency unlock for stuck cables
- Release connector when session ended but cable remains locked
- Troubleshoot cable lock mechanism issues
- Recover from charger software errors
- Customer service assistance for locked cables
When to Use:
- Cable physically stuck after session completion
- Charger error preventing normal unlock
- Session stopped but lock not released
- Emergency situations requiring immediate cable release
Command Behavior:
- Charger attempts to unlock the cable mechanically
- May not work if cable lock is physically jammed
- Does not stop active charging session automatically
- Success depends on charger hardware state and cable position
- Some chargers require session stop before unlock
Important Notes:
- Not all chargers support forced unlock during active sessions
- Physical intervention may be required if mechanical failure
- Charger may reject unlock for safety reasons (active power delivery)
- Does not guarantee successful unlock (hardware dependent)
Best Practices:
- Stop charging session before attempting unlock when possible
- Verify cable is not damaged or physically stuck
- Use only when normal unlock procedures fail
- Document unlock attempts for maintenance tracking
